AW 2021 EVENTS HAPPENING FROM 31 JULY TO 8 AUGUST

Although Alderney Week 2021 has regrettably been cancelled, we are pleased to advise you that some of the individual organisers have confirmed their events below, listed in our original programme, will still go ahead.  

PLEASE NOTE ALDERNEY WEEK IS FULLY CANCELLED AND THESE EVENTS ARE NOT RUN BY THE ALDERNEY WEEK TEAM.  THEREFORE ALL PARTICIPANTS ENGAGE AT THEIR OWN RISK.  

SATURDAY 31 JULY:

*09:30-11:00 Registration for Junior & Adult Tennis Competitions at the Alderney Tennis Club

*Prof Guernsark is still at large! The race is on to prevent him taking over the island from his new outdoor HQ at Fort Tourgis Battery no. 3.  Follow the clues to find his secret plans and stop the Professor before it’s too late. An adventure quest for 2—6 players. Entirely outdoors, with track & trace and sanitisation measures in place. Booking & details at the Wildlife Trust Office.

*Photo Competition. “WHAT IS IT & WHERE IS IT?” All you must do is try and solve the photographic clues from around the Island and answer by telling us. £1 per entry – Collect the forms from the Tourism Information Centre from Saturday 31 July  and return them before midday on Saturday 7 August. The lucky winner will receive a £50 voucher kindly donated by Braye Chippy

 SUNDAY 1ST AUGUST

*10:00-13:00: Alderney Landscapes Art Exhibition at Pré Studio. An exhibition of paintings, sculpture, mirrors and cushions. Free Entry 

*10:00-14:00 Summer Art Exhibition at Le Passage Gallery & Sculpture Gardens , Les Rocquettes House. An amazing display paintings and sculptures of 16 leading artists from 11 countries around the world and several Alderney artists. Free entry

*12:00-18:00 Birthday Sunday Bonanza at La Ville Hotel. There’s plenty going on at the hotel which celebrates its first birthday.  There’s even a kids zone to entertain the youngsters. More details on posters and social media.

*13:00-15:30 Street Market in Victoria Street (Road closed to cars from 12:30-15:30) Stall holders please contact admin@alderneywildlife.org to book your pitch, table etc. More details will be published on posters and social media.

*14:00: Registration for Adult Tennis competition £5 at the Alderney Tennis Club . Play Monday 2ND at 14:45

*21:00 onwards: Outdoor Cinema on the Butes “COUNTDOWN TO DANGER” (starts at 21:30) – a classic Alderney Film.  Filmed in Alderney in 1967- a group of local and visiting children’s race against time to save one of their one. Wrap up warm. Admission free, but donations welcome. Drinks available from The Box. Organised by the Alderney Wildlife Trust & The Georgian House.  More details on posters and social media.

TUESDAY 3RD

*10:00 The Rotary Club Car Scramble registration at the Moorings car park for 10:30 start. A scramble challenge to gather the most interesting items or collection of “finds”. Meet at the Moorings car park where you will be given your list of items to ‘find’.   Enter as a team or individual in cars or bikes or on foot. Bring back your ‘finds’ by 12 noon for judging & prize giving. Prizes for Most Imaginative Single ‘Find’. Best Collection, Best Junior Entry (under 16) . Organised by the Alderney Rotary Club.

More details when you register at Saye Camp Site where it all starts and finishes.  Prizes for the best collection. Snacks/pizzas & refreshments available.  Entry £2

*20:45pm Bats and Blonde Hedgehog Discovery Tour: starts at the AWT Centre. Organised by the Alderney Wildlife Trust. Pre-booking required

* Kayaking Tours of Braye Harbour, its history and wildlife organised by the Wildlife Trust. 

Times: *08.00 – 09.30;   09.30 – 11.00; 11.00- 12.30;13.30 -15.00. Must be booked in advance at the AWT Centre . £20 adults, £15 children.

*10:00 Fun Run from Braye Common. Register at 09:30 at Braye Common at middle entrance to Braye Beach for the 2m race, the 5K or 10K Run. Open to all ages – but please note everybody taking part does so entirely at their own risk.  Drinking water will be provided   Organisers: Belinda Powrie and Team.
